Zahid Abbass owns a cash and carry specialising in continental foods and requires a solution to manage both trade and "walk in" customers and give levels of pricing for different groups of customers. The solution must provide pricing structures based on bulk purchasing and allow the management of stock and cash throughput. The solution would cost Zahid around £17.50 per day over 3 years.
The GS Retail suite included three heavy duty pos terminals to control his customer throughput. Two of the terminals are set up to automatically ask for customers details as they were trade-only lanes. The other terminal is for trade and "walk in" customers. The trade customers would be of a number of types, some would be trade customers who had to pay with order. The others would be trade customers who paid via invoice. The products within solution were set with pricing structures that allowed automatic adjustment of pricing for bulk or multi-buy products. The back office would manage all the stock on a real time basis and provide a comprehensive level of reporting and management tools.
Zahid would make immediate savings on the downtime being caused by his existing system as well as the maintenance fees that he is currently paying not being incurred in the first year of the new system. The extra functionality and speed of his new system would streamline his whole customer throughput. The back office reporting module would enhance the information he gains and provide him with a much more solid platform to plan and build the business. The stock management module would help to restructure his current stock operations into a more efficient manageable operation bringing numerous cost saving with it.
